Walsh, Former Nine Captain. Will Practice With White Sox

Charlie Walsh, 1962 baseball captain, may be breaking into the big time soon. The burly catcher, a Crimson student for three years, will go South this week to participate in the Chicago White Sox rookie camp, in Florida.

Walsh, who starred for the Crimson in some notable triumphs, broke into professional ball after graduation last season playing with a Class B White Sox farm club.

He is the first Crimson baseball player to go into organized ball since Ira Godin was signed by the Red Sox three years ago. Godin, however, turned up with arm trouble in a Triple A league, and as far as is known, is still nursing it.
