Two Graduates of University Win Oxford Literary Prizes

Two former Harvard students won Oxford University's leading literary awards this year. It was reported to be the first time that both top prizes have been awarded to American students in the same year.

Donald A. Hall, Jr. '51 won the Newdigate prize with a poem entitled "Exile." His poem was one of the shortest in the prize's history.

George Steiner, a Business School graduate, received the Chancellor's English prize with an essay on malice.
