T.S. Eliot '10 will soon again grace the Cambridge scene, columnist Leonard Lyons reported in a syndicated article Tuesday afternoon. Lyons gave no indication of whether Eliot would deliver any address in Cambridge or when he would arrive here. His item merely stated that the poet and essayist was in this country and would be present at "his Harvard reunion." University officials last night claimed no knowledge of the approach of the poet, saying that so far as they knew he was still in England. Attempts to reach either Lyons or Eliot to determine the poet's itinerary were unsuccessful.
Eliot is no stranger to the Harvard scent. As recently as three years ago he gave a series of lectures in Sanders Theatre on the poet in the modern age. In the early 30's he was for one year the Charles Eliot Norton Professor of Poetry.
Eliot received his B.A. here in 1910 and his Masters the following year. As an undergraduate he was active in Harvard literary circles, especially on the Advocate.
