M.I.T. placed a strict ban on "unauthorized off-campus demonstrations by students" over the week-end, and, simultaneously, a charge of disturbing the peace against dean Frederick G. Fassett, Jr., was dismissed in District Court.
President James R. Killian, Jr. revoked rules formerly in effect which stipulate that "participation in or presence at such demonstrations" would result in expulsion for students.
The action grew out of a march on Radcliffe last Tuesday night. When Dean Fessett went to the Cambridge Police Station to help ball students out, he was booked on the same charges.
