For the first time this year Bert Haines' undefeated varsity 150-pound crew enters a race as an underdog when it travels to Princeton for the annual EARC regatta on Lake Carnegie this afternoon. Penn's defending champions are favored to win again in the seven-crew race over the Henley mile and five-sixteenth course.

Besides the Quakers and the Crimson, who are seeded one and two, Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, and M.I.T. will race. Haines' varsity has already defeated Yale, Princeton, Tech, and Columbia, but the Lions, also defeated by Penn, put the Quakers ahead of the Crimson on comparative performances. Last year Harvard finished close behind Penn, and the Quakers have practically the same boat back.

The race will be run off in morning and afternoon heats, with both the Jayvee and freshmen crews also rowing. The Crimson Jayvee, only half a length behind the varsity in Tuesday's time trial, is favored to sweep its fourth race. The Yardlings are underdogs behind both Princeton and Yale.
