Bolles Rejects NCAA Injury Compensations

A plan recommended by the N.C.A.A. to provide insurance for injured athletes will not be adopted here this year. Athletic Director Tom Bolles said yesterday. At the same time, Bolles said that people were making plans to televise the Harvard-Yale crew race June 20. He continued, however, that no further information is available at this time.

The charge on the $250 deductible policy, which provides up to $5000 worth of protection, would be $1 per athlete for the college year. Bolles said that the H.A.A. will wait to see how the program works out, and added that studies of Harvard injuries have revealed that the insurance would not be practical here.

The policy was recommended by a NCAA committee recently and letters explaining the insurance were sent to all member schools. As yet no Ivy League College has reported accepting the new plan.
