"Southern Africa is going to wade through hell in the next ten to 15 years," the Rev. James H. Robinson said last night.
Speaking at the First Congregational Church, the noted Negro clergyman said that African colonies would either "achieve their own governments peaceably there will be plenty of blood. These people aren't afraid any more he explained.
Robinson, who has just returned from a six-month world tour, mainly in the Far East, also told an audience of about 400 that India is destined to be a third great world power, but that American foreign policy and business values are ruining the West's chances to defeat Communism there.
"We can't buy democracy in the East," Robinson said. He decried a foreign policy favoring "colonialism" and claimed that paying for such propaganda methods as the Voice of America in a country where only one and one half percent of the people have radios was silly.
