Hampered by the lack of five men who stayed behind to study, Bruce Munro's varsity soccer squad went on to outmaneuver a hard-driving University of Connecticut eleven to win, 3 to 1, at Storrs Yesterday.

Connecticut scored first with a goal by center forward Bill Tuttle who took a pass deep in Crimson territory and banged it past goalie Roger Taylor at 4:05 of the first period.

Berk Johnson evened the score at 11:45 of the same period with a long shot from left wing, which scored into the net behind the UConn's goalie.

Frank Davies drove in the winning goal in the second period on a cross from Win Knowlton, while Johnny Beer blasted in the Crimson's third score at 9:55 of the third period.

The short passing attack which has previously been lacking in the Crimson's play finally appeared yesterday. It was the best exhibition of team coordination Harvard has displayed to date. Connecticut men retained possession of the ball more often than not, but good covering by Crimson defensemen broke up the long passes and provented scoring plays.

Several Crimson booters had to work in different positions because of the missing players. Dana Getchell played right halfback right inside, and right outside, while Bill Cowperthwaite worked at right outside and center forward.

"Two men passing can always beat any one man." was coach Bruce Munro's comment on the booter's success.
