Yale Likes 'Ike' by 2-1 In All-University Poll

Yale's student body backed General Dwight D. Eisenhower by over two to one in a poll taken yesterday by the Yale Daily News. The final tabulations showed 2812 students for Eisenhower, with 1128 supporting Governor Adlai R. Stevenson.

All of Yale's ten colleges and the freshman class went strongly Republican. The Graduate Schools, on the other hand all showed a preference for the Democratic candidate.

The Yale student body has been strongly Republican in every presidential election since 1932. Four years ago, Governor Thomas R. Dewey received a similar margin over President Truman.

In another poll taken yesterday, Senator Joseph R. McCarthy was just siged out by his Democratic opponent, Thomas E. Fairchild. McCarthy received support from 1250 Yale students, while 1301 voted for Fairchild.
