Tomorrow marks the beginning of the 80th year of publication for the University's undergraduate daily, now known as THE HARVARD CRIMSON.

The small band that started out with "The Magenta" has grown in size until it now includes more than 1,000 loyal editors throughout the country. The CRIMSON takes this opportunity to greet them, and thank them for their many contributions.

One of the most interesting sections of Crime history concerns one of its serious rivals during the period since 1873, The Harvard Journal, started 17 years ago by a dissatisfied Crimson faction. As a salute to the bold group of men who inaugurated this venture almost two decades ago, the editors will publish a modern edition of that paper indicating what might happen if such a split were to occur today. The issue will appear some time in the immediate future.
