College Role in World Relations Emphasized

Donald C. McKay, professor of History told a combined Wellesley M.I.T. meeting yesterday that there is a need for greater "sophistication" in understanding international relations.

Speaking at the second session of the New England Conference on universities and world affairs, McKay stressed the importance of the role colleges and universities must take in shaping foreign policy and creating better international relations in general.

The conference was also highlighter by enthusiastic discussions by the delegates from 33 participating colleges on the problem of general education as a good means of getting people interested and willing to cooperate in international affairs.
