The first camera especially designed for photographing meteors will be tested today if the weather is clear.
The high-speed camera, designed by James G. Baker, research associate at the Observatory, shows not only where the meteor is, but how fast it goes.
Five more of the Super-Schmidt Meteor Cameras will be built for research projects in New Mexica and Canada and for use by the U.S. Army.
