House Dances and Senior Spread Are Big Social Events Still Ahead

Formal Affairs Lend Color to Weekends

The Spring round of formal parties is already well underway, but with three houses still to hold their affairs, and the commencement hoopla still in the distance, the enterprising student still has an opportunity to plan a big Spring weekend.

Perhaps the newest innovation in the Spring schadule is the Leverett House day and a half. The hard-working Bunny House Committee has decided that many people don't go to things called "weekend," because they sound like they're going to be too long. With a fear of going to the other extreme, calling it simply a dance, the committee decided on the "day and half."

The First Ever

In what they alledge to be the first House affair of such durationg, the Hutch residents have planned an all-house sports program in the afternoon, a dinner and formal dance for Saturday night and some sort of spontaneous entertainment for Sunday. The dance will be held outdoors, in McKinlock Courtyard.

Annual events such as the Jubilee (this weekend), the Lowell and Kirk-(this weekend), the Lowell and Adams House dinners and dances. and usually preceded by numerous merry cocktail parties.

The traditional Senior Spread will be held in the Eliot House Quadrangle this year and will feature the normal buffet dinner and informal outdoor dance, starting at 10 p.m. and running into the quiet hours of the morning.

Other events such as the Moonlight Cruise and the Great Parade to Soldiers Field for the Yale baseball game are still in the planning stages.
