Holt Foresees Increase In Jobs This Summer

More students will be able to obtain jobs this summer than last year, John W. Holt, Director of Student Employment, predicted yesterday. He does not attribute this increase, however, to any shortage of manpower which may result from the draft.

Holt says his office has expanded its capacity to line up jobs for students. Even with this, though, there will be relatively fewer openings for summer school men than for these in the College. Some kind of work will nevertheless be available for every applicant.

Job opportunities in the eight weeks of summer school are limited, Holt stated, since industries mostly want to hire full-instead of part-time employees. There will still be the usual baby-sitting, restaurant, and hotel jobs.
