Golumb Cops Law Marathon, Dow Gives Way on Final Day

The greatest sweepstakes in Law School history ended Wednesday in a third year class in Evidence. Barry Golumb 3L and Joseph S. Dow 3L, the unwitting principals of a three month talking marathon, were neck and neck going into the last two days. Each had answered 38 guestions at the lectures.

Although Golumb and Dow have long been known for their loquacity, it was not until February that a betting commission was set up and public interest began to mount. The only people who never knew about it were Golumb and Dow.

Going into the last week, the odds were three to two for Golumb. On Tuesday he went ahead with 39 speeches to Dow's 38 and then copped the championship when the latter remained lethargic in a disappointing last day.
