BASEBALL SALARIES CONTROLLED
Baseball player salaries were placed under government wage controls yesterday. The ruling by the Wage Stabilization Board put a ceiling over the salaries of the top-priced stars at the 1950 level.

A.A.U. BOXING
New York made a strong bid for group honors in the National A.A.U. boxing championships by placing five men in the semi-finals. Seattle placed four, while Cleveland and Philadelphia teams had three each.
