Peaceful co-existence with Russia is possible today, Erwin D. Canham, editor of the Christian Science Monitor, told a Coffee Hour audience yesterday in Harkness Commons.
Canham felt that we have done "an atrocious job" in communicating our ideals to other countries and that we have showed them "a totally inadequate form of leadership" so far.
He outlined three points that the U.S. should follow to achieve peace in the world. The country should first recreate a power equilibrium to offset the vacuum left at the end of World War II when Germany and Japan ceased to threaten Russia's borders.
The U.S., he stated, should also present Moscow with definite "peace terms" in writing. Lastly, he suggested seeking an improved international organization.
