CCNY Players Held
New York police last night arrested three C.C.N.Y. basketball players for shaving points in three Madison Square Garden games in 1949 and 1950.
Last year's Captain Irwin Dambrot and teammate Norman Mager were held with 1951 team star Herbert Cohen for helping limit point spreads in games with S.M.U., U.C.L.A., and Niagara University.
District Attorney Frank Hogan, who questioned the men today, said that his aides were on the trail of the person who arranged the fix.
Meanwhile, a basketball coaches committee meeting in Minneopalis drew up an eight-point recommendation aimed at purifying their blackened sport, suggesting that a Federal law punish bribe offerers.
