Lowell House Will Hold U.S. Premiere of Lully's Opera, 'Amadis de Gaulle,' Tonight

The Lowell House Musical Society will present the first American production of Jean Baptiste Lully's "Amadis de Gaule" as its eighth full-length opera opening tonight at 8:30 and continuing through Saturday night. The third performance was added this year after full houses limited the number able to attend in previous years.

John L. Patterson sings the title role of Amadis opposite Marguerite Willauer of the New England Conservatory. William Flavin, Peter Coyne, Adele Milhender, and Anne English hold other important parts.

Nathaniel Merrill of the New England Conservatory will direct the opera, and the orchestra, composed of the members of the Pierian Sodality, will be conducted by Malcolm H. Holmes '28.
