The second conference of the term on careers will discuss Law as a profession at 8 p.m tonight in Leverett House dining hall.
Livingston Hall, vice-dean of the Law School, will moderate at the forum, which features as speakers Archibald Cox '34, professor of Law; John R. McLane, Jr., partner in a Manchester, New Hampshire, law firm; and Mayo A. Shattuck '19, partner in a Boston law firm.
Cox will talk on "The Lawyer in Government." He has been associated with the office of the Solicitor General and the U.S. Departments of Justice and Labor. Cox has been professor of Law since 1946.
A practicing New Hampshire lawyer, McLane will address the forum on "The Lawyer in the Small Community." He has worked mostly with corporate, probate, and tax matters.
Former Bar President
"The Lawyer in the Large Community" will be Shattuck's subject. He was formerly president of the Massachusetts Bar Association and an instructor in trust law at several universities.
