Improving Swimmers Top Navy for 5th Straight Win

Navy won one race Saturday, but the Middles failed to worry the improving varsity swimming team. Harvard's 58 to 17 victory was its fifth straight, all by wide margins, and it greatly increased the likelihood that Hall Ulen will take an undefeated squad into the Yale meet.

The freshmen also kept their 1951 record spotless with a 48 to 27 defeat of St. George's School earlier in the afternoon at the Indoor Athletic Building.

Diver Peto Dillingham and sprinter Dave Hedberg in the 100-yard freestyle turned in their best performances of the year, as did the medley relay trio of John Steinhart, Ken Emerson, and Ron Huebsch. Rone Vielman was forced into a spirited last lap sprint to take the 200-yard breaststroke from teammate Emerson, who lost by inches.
