Houses Vote for 8 Council Seats From Field of 28

What is probably the quietest election in years for House representatives to the Student Council draws to a close tonight. From a field of 29 candidates, eight men--one from each House and Dudley--will be elected to serve on the Council until next fall.

Balloting in the Houses will take place at lunch and supper today. Since they only eat lunch at Dudley, the commuters started voting yesterday and will finish today. Benjamin F. Macdonald '52, Chairman of the Class Affairs Committee, will announce the results tonight.

As far as the number of candidates goes, Eliot takes the lead with five hopefuls, followed by Winthrop, Lowell, and Dudley with four. All the others boast three candidates. Posters, however, were universally sparse.

Macdonald hopes that balloting will go better than last fall when Adams House voted a day late because election chairman Nathan Hale '52 failed to bring the ballot box to the evening meal. Therefore, Douglas G. Boshkoff had to wait a day to be chosen.
