Yale has voiced its first demand for an Honors Degree candidate system in a Yale "Daily News" editorial. The plan, which calls for small group seminars and individual tutorial, is similar to the Tutorial For All proposal advocated by Dean Bender for several years.
Under the Yale Daily plan, the Honors candidate would take only one exam a year in each course, write a short and long paper in his field, and take a final comprehensive examination. He must choose ten courses in his field out of the sixteen necessary to graduate.
