Three college crews at least will be tugging at their oars with an eye to the 1952 Olympics, it was learned last night.

Besides grooming the varsity eight for international competition, the H.A.A. also bought two four-oar shells with a view to training entries for this competition. John Hart, a husky senior, intends to make a bid for the single sculls event.

Just from where crew coach Harvey Love will draw his material for the four-oar boats is uncertain. If the varsity doesn't function according to high hopes held for it, he could take his oarsmen from there. More than likely, he will get his fours from the J.V. or third boat which have consistently been packed with first-rate oarsmen the past several seasons.

Competitions to pick the American rowing entries will be on Princeton's Lake Carnegie in late June.

This year's Yale race date leaves enough time to train for the shorter tryouts.
