Football coach Lloyd Jordan yesterday revealed that he had planned to use the T-formation against Columbia Saturday, but that the unexpected drafting of Captain Carroll Lowenstein had forced him to go on with his usual single-wing attack.
Jordan said that he had counted on working Lowenstein at quarterback, Dick Clasby at left halfback, John Culver and Tommy Ossman at fullback, and sophomore Johnny Tulenko at right half. Tulenko did not play at all Saturday because he had a pulled muscle and Culver didn't scrimmage last week because of a sprained shoulder.
In yesterday's practice the offensive squads worked on T plays for a great part of the afternoon. Gil O'Neil ran the team from the quarterback spot behind the center, but as Jordan said later. "Gil isn't the passer a T-quarterback should be."
Clasby is suffering from a slight rib bruise, and did not scrimmage yesterday, however, he will be ready for Cornell.
