Dwight Hyde 1B, newly-appointed head football coach at Open University, yesterday scored a minor coup by luring three Winthrop-House and two Dudley players to the Vermont school. The announcement followed Winthrop's 34 to 0 victory over Dudley at Soldiers Field.

The players--quarterback Walt Greeley, guard George Chase, and end Ken Eddy of Winthrop and quarterback Bob Whoriskey and halfback Charley Collins of Dudley--declined to comment on Open, but it is believed that they were won over to the school with offers of tuition, books, spending money, convertibles, and girls.

Jerry Kanter 1B, coach of Closed College, plans a similar move today when he pilots Lowell House for the last time. The Bellboys play Eliot, and Kanter is said to be ready to match anything Hyde can offer, since he has the support of powerful subway alumni.

Meanwhile, Open and Closed reported that their teams will be newly-outfitted for Saturday's game at the Stadium. Open will wear navy blue jersies with white sleeve stripes while Closed will be impeccably attired in green jersies with similar white sleeve stripes.

Definite Assurances

Band manager Frank Hopkins '52 was disturbed by student skepticism. He reiterated that he had definite assurances from Open and Closed that their bands will make the trip in time for a pre-game rally at the I.A.B. Friday night. The bands will perform at halftime, said Hopkins, who is acting as special musical director.

Intra-mural athletic director Adolph Samborski was not surprised at the in-roads made upon his league by Hyde and Kanter.
