The Institute of Geographic Exploration yesterday vanished from Cambridge so far as the University is concerned. The building will remain empty, except for two members from the Institute, until the Corporation, its legal possessor, assigns it to one of the faculties of the University.

Finishing off their work in the building are Erwin Raisz, lecturer on Geographical Exploration and Curator of Maps at the Institute, and Edward S. Wood, Jr., instructor in Aerophotography. Their courses have been discontinued, but they will continue to work on research projects until the University moves them out.

Men from the department of Buildings and Grounds yesterday began to move some of Wood's personal belongings from the Institute. A delegation from the Army arrived at the building in the afternoon to remove some records which were stored there and took them to other University buildings.

Raisz is shown at his desk, working on a map of Arabia for which he has an Army contract. He estimates the map will not be complete until early next year.
