An Ounce of Prevention...

Nobody thinks of House football as anything more than a pleasant if vigorous afternoon pastime for those who want some informal exercise. And yet this very informality led last week to a broken neck, a broken ankle, and a broken arm.

Immediately after the accidents, Dolph Samborski reiterated the old rule whereby all players had to join at least one practice session a week if they wanted to play at all. There is some indication that the team coaches will continue to ignore this, contrary to the obvious need for proper conditioning.

It might seem like a waste of time to practice intensively for so informal a sport as House Football, but if it prevents one injury, it would be worth many an hour of dull instruction.
