The freshman B football team, sparked by the running of Dick Hoffman and Ed Moll and the passing of John Southmayd, easily defeated Lowell House, 26 to 0, yesterday. Lowell House had beaten Leverett and Dudley in its only two House games this year.
End Bill Wright led the scorers for the game with two touchdowns, both on fourth period passes from Southmayd. The scoring passes were for 7 and 36 yards respectively.
Hoffman scored the first freshman touchdown on a brilliant 60-yard run off his own left tackle mid-way through the first period. Moll got the clincher on a 28-yard third period run. Al Rossow added the two extra points.
Lowell was able to get only one drive going. Bob Lown completed three passes in a row, two to Paul Levin and one to Tom Johnson. However, an interception ended the drive.
Hoffman and Moll shared the kicking duties for the freshmen, and between them averaged 35 yards on 6 kicks. Moll got off the best kick of the day after being trapped way behind the line. His kick on the run traveled 40 yards.
