"A Touch of the Times," the student produced film that played to packed houses here last fall and spring, will reach the commercial market in New York City sometime in October.
George M. Kurzon '52, president of Ivy Films, announced yesterday that the motion picture was contracted last September, before the world premier, to the Olio-Video Corporation for distribution. Kurzon stated that he had received word that "A Touch of the Times" will have a two-fold opening sometime in October at the Fifth Avenue Playhouse and the Fifty-fifth Avenue Playhouse and the Fifty-fifth Street Playhouse in New York.
May Make TV
Olio-Video is also a distributor of television films, and Kurzon stated that he thought it quite likely that the picture will eventually reach the home TV audience.
The hour-and-five-minute film had its premiere at the University Theatre last year on the weekend of the Army football game. Nineteen hundred people crowded into the searchlight-flooded building and the doors were closed to 100 more. The only other showing took place before alumni and seniors during Senior Week last June.
Meanwhile, Ivy Films latest work, "Project 109",--a short comedy on study habits--has been completed except for the synchronization or final print and sound track. NO release plans are yet set.
Kurzon added that one of the most important facets of Ivy Films' fall competition will be the effort to find a workable script for a new and, as yet, unplanned project.
