PBH Starts Exchange For All Student Books

As a substitute for its temporarily discontinued textbook-lending service, Phillips Brooks House inaugurated a direct from-seller-to-buyer book exchange yesterday.

The exchange, according to Anthony G. Oettinger '51, chairman of the Senior Advisory Committee of P.B.H., is "designed to eliminate losses in book-selling profits due to service charges, or hikes in the prices of used books due to the markup of various middlemen."

The free service started yesterday in the basement of P.B.H. and will run until Saturday, October 7. The seller may bring any type of book to the exchange, set the price himself, and is free to change the price at any time.
