Dinner Honors Holmes On Recent Retirement

Members of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, Pierian Sodality, and Music Department honored Malcolm H. Holmes '23 last night at a Faculty Club banquet. He is retiring after 26 years with the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra to take on new duties as Dean of the New England Conservatory of Music.

In a speech accepting the Pierian Sodality's ivory ceremonial baton, Holmes said he would "always be available to the Orchestra in an advisory capacity." Robert K. Nesbit '51, president of Pierian, and Norman J. Keesal, Orchestra manager, both lauded Holmes's contribution to the Orchestra.
