Nine Assumes 5th Place in EIBL As Princeton Team Downs Navy

Inactivity forced the varsity baseball team into fifth place in the Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League yesterday afternoon. A one win, one loss record had previously been good for only sixth, but Navy's loss to Princeton dropped the Middies below the varsity.

In two games played yesterday, Princeton defeated Navy, 5 to 2, and Columbia downed Penn, 6 to 3.

Three teams are still undefeated in league play; Army has won four, Cornell and Yale three apiece. Princeton, with three wins and a loss, is one notch above the Crimson.

No Harvard batters were qualified for listing in the league batting averages released yesterday since the team has played only two league games.
