Timothy Dwight Quintet Defeats Bunny Five, 51-45

Timothy Dwight College of Yale had little trouble beating Leverett, 51 to 45, in their traditional basketball game at the Blockhouse Saturday.

Leverett led for most of the first half, but the Prexies peeked away at the lead steadily. Finally, shortly before the intermission, Terry Buchauan, a standout all day for Timothy Dwight, scored on a two-handed layup to put the Elis in front. They were never headed thereafter.

Fifth place finishers in the regular A League season, the Bunnies couldn't seem to find their shooting eyes. Dave Belcher, Leverett's tall center, played well below his usual level of play, scoring only nine points.

Joe Shaw and Julie Garelich each dropped in 10 points for the Bunnies, who played the game without the services of high-scoring forward Dave Reynolds.

Besides scoring the basket that put the Prexies ahead, Buchanan played a good all-around game, especially under the boards. Forward Al Blackburn was high scorer for Timothy Dwight with 14 points, and Bob Mossman scored eight, mostly on set shots from the corner.

In another basketball contest a week ago Saturday, Berkeley College of Yale defeated Kirkland House for the regular championship of the two colleges.
