Elis Win Track Meet Easily; Fuchs Sets New Shot Record

Fully equipped with world and national champions but without the services of Heptagonal sprint title-holder Charlie Kellar, Yale's track team took ten out of 12 events in New Haven yesterday to down the varsity, 82 2/3 to 26 1/3.

World shot put champion Him Fuchs set a Coxe Cage record with a toss of 5q feet, 2 1/2 inches. Harvard captain Geoff Tootell finished third in the event, behind Eli captain Vic Frank. George Wade, national champion, took first in the mile with 4:17.9.

The Crimson's Harvey Thayer and Ed Grutzner finished one-two in the 600, and Dave Carter and Bill Geick took first and third in the broad jump.

The freshmen, with Bob Mello winning three events, lost to Yale, 62 to 47.
