Three men out of approximately 1,200 have left the Business School to report for active service and another 20 have received orders. Of the 20, ten have been deferred until February. All are reservists.

About 200 second year men--most of them veterans--are in the reserves, and an equal number are veterans but not in the reserves. Policy has been to defer reservists, when they are called, to the end of the academic term. Veterans are generally exempted under federal law.

Roughly 30 second year men without previous service have received classifications under the regular draft. Unlike the Law School, which has sent out 354 letters for student deferment requests, the Business School has sent none.

Law School Study

Questionnaires were distributed by the Law School in the middle of the week to determine the draft status of its students, and the results will be available next week. No figures were available yesterday for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

The Business School is presently conducting a study to determine the status of its first year men. One difference between the Business and Law Schools is the matter of academic terms, since deferments for the former would be based on the conventional two terms and for the latter on a full year.
