Brown coach Bob Morris will bring a small but experienced team into the Blockhouse for the Crimson basketball team's first Eastern League competition tonight at 8:30p.m. The freshmen teams meet two hours earlier.
At forwards for the Bruins will be Captain Fred Kozak and Chuck Whelan, Ezra Creswell will be the center, while Al Gauthier and sophomore Joe Christopher will open at guard. All but Christopher are senior lettermen. Both Kozak and Gauthier stand five foot seven, while at six three Creswell and Whelan are but an inch taller than Christopher. There is no one on the Squad big enough to cope with Ed Smith or Dick Lunette, who are both over six five.
In its opening game last week Brown lost to underdog American International College, coached by former Crimson football player Nick Rod is. The defeat was due in part to the Zone defense which A.I.C. used, and to the loss of Whelan with five minutes left to play.
Crimson coach Norm Shepard will start the same men who opened in last week's 60 to 41 defeat of M.I.T. Because Bill Borah had to quit the squad on account of illness and a back injury has forced Quintin Stiles to give up basketball, Buddy Lemay has been added to the roster.
Brown's freshman team is called by Yardling coach Floyd Wilson "a really excellent squad." Wilson's boys, especially center and Blodnick and fishy guard Bill Dennis, looked very good in the 72 to 42 defeat of Tech.
