THE CRIME

The Reply . . .

In the midst of the flow of wonderful publicity engendered by this year's Hurricane football team, we received this week a clipping of an editorial which appeared in the Westwood Hills Press following our victory over Purdue . . .

He (the writer) admits that it isn't possible to make his accusations emphatic "without possession of all the facts." It is obvious that he hasn't taken the trouble to discover ANY of the facts.

The writer apparently hasn't heard that we . . . are now one of the largest universities in the country with an enrollment of over 11,000. Does the fact that we have won a few ball games this season imply that we have enlisted the aid of the S & G Syndicate?

Of course we had to go out and get our players, but Coach Gustafson and his aides are capable of recruiting without the aid of the Capone mob. The editorial claims that winning football teams that are "bought" don't mean very much. Just how in the devil does he think games are won? With students? --Editorial in the Miami Hurricane
