Jordan Will Allow Players To Speak at Four Rallies

For the first time in two years varsity football players will be allowed to speak at football rallies. This new policy, worked out yesterday between Coach Jordan and Roger J. Butler '51, head cheerleader will be inaugurated tomorrow night at the Columbia game rally.

Butler also announced yesterday that additional rallies had been scheduled for the Army, Dartmouth, and Yale games and possibly for the Brown content. During the 1948 and 149 seasons there were never more than three rallies a year.

Jordan has assured the cheerleaders that he and/or his coaching staff would be present at al rallies. All varsity players would be given permission to appear at rallies of their own volition.

Past Policy

During the past two seasons, under the coaching regime of Art Valpey, the players were discouraged from getting keyed up before a game. Only Valpey and the captains appeared at the rallies.
