The freshman "B" eleven opens the football weekend as well as its own season this afternoon against an undefeated Noble and Greenough team in Dedham. Kickoff time is 3 p.m.

Noble's team has a big advantage for this game. The prep schoolers have played twice already, beating Rivers, 45 to 0, and losing to St. Mark's, 7 to 0. Charley Law's freshmen, on the other hand, have had less than 48 hours as a unit together.

Elliot Putnam, Noble coach, says his team has a speedy backfield but a light line. Putnam's two best backs are Captain Pete Kenney, hard-running halfback, and Tom Tolan, a quarterback who can run, pass, and kick. Noble uses an attack involving both T and single-wing plays.

Bill McCourt, right end on the freshman football team's offensive platoon, will miss tomorrow's game with Brandeis, medical reports indicated yesterday. McCourt strained a joint during the Yardlings', win over Andover Saturday. It is not yet known how long he will be out.
