Freshman Squash Team Loses, 3-2, At Beverly, Ends Undefeated String

A budding, winning-streak came to a rude half for the freshman squash team last night in Beverly, when the town's YMCA squad stopped the Crimson's undefeated skein at six games with at 3 to 2 victory.

Coach Copy Winn's team showed a weakness in the lower positions as it dropped the three, four, and five position matches after Charlie Ufford and Don Watts won the opening games easily.

Ufford, who has lost only one match the season, took his two casily. Watin dropped his second game but came back strong to win three to one.

Charley Eliot's match against Roger Gorint of Beverly proved to be the crucial content. Eliot opened impressively as his persuing game held Gorini to eight points. However, Gorinl came back to take the next two games and then lost out in the fourth as Eliot rallied to gain a 17 to 15 victory. Eliot's offensive sport seemed to tire him and Gorini won the deciding match, 15 to 10.

The contest was a class C match in the Metropolitan League. The Yardlings will meet the Amherst freshmen here tomorrow night.
