Radcliffe Announces $25 Award Winners

Sadja Stokowski '51 was named winner of Radcliffe's Oliver-Dabney Prize in History 1 for her essay on the Italian elections of 1948, Michael Karpovitch, professor of History, announced yesterday.

The $25 prize is given for the best collateral essay written in connection with the History 1 course. Sue Smart '52 received honorable mention.

The Oliver-Dabney History and Literature prize, given to the "most promising junior' in the department, went to Jeanne Melchior '50. The award, which is to be spent within a year on books, is decided on the basis of marks, general examinations, and tutorial.

Marguerite Jupp '51 also received an Oliver-Dabney award as the sophomore in the History and Literature Department whose work has shown the greatest promise during the year.
