A beautiful, glistening bubble burst on the Business School field Saturday afternoon. Dartmouth, traditional rival and perennial conqueror of the varsity lacrosse team, won again--by the downright inconsiderate score of 14 to 3.
The Indians were clearly superior, On attack--and they spent most of their time attacking--the team was smooth, fast, and beautifully coordinated.
The individual players, too, were individually brilliant. One man scored with a neat over-the-shoulder shot, (which is roughly equivalent to shooting a basket with your back to the basket).
Estin Goes Out
On defense, the Dartmouths didn't have much to do. With Hans Estin playing half of the game and sitting out the second half with a broken left foot, the Crimson attack was unhinged. Rick Hudner made a fine individual performance but it is significant that his one goal came on a pass, from Estin.
This was the only score for Harvard until long after the game was lost. Captain Bob Forsyth got the second after a long dash up the field from his defense position and Wilbur Davis scored the last at the very end against the Green second team.
Forsyth, Hudner, and Sid Clark in the goal were the outstanding Harvard players. The squad, minus Estin, plays New Hampshire today.
