Although Yokum's Moon is just under the horison, the Outing Club plans to stage a "Sadle Hawkins Race" at its First Annual Picnic, Dogpatch Style" from 3 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Cabot Reservation, two miles north of Waltham.
HOC officers are planning an outing of just the type that causes Al Capp to be violently, publicly, and (it is believed) figuratively sick to his stomach.
The afternoon will feature, besides the out-of-season race complete with a Marryin' Sam at the finish line, what is described as a "Schmoo Hunt--finders keepers," hiking--"a free schmoo for every blister," a tug of war with Wellesleyites, a softball game with Simmons girls, sack races, and a 75 cent picnic supper, followed by a "songfest."
