Crimson Last in Hep Track

Even though the Crimson took tenth out of ten entries in the Fifteenth Annual Track Meet held in Philadelphia Saturday, there were some bright spots in the defeat.

In taking third in the javelin with a heave of 188 feet, 1 1/3 inches, Charlie Keith threw the spear further than he has ever thrown it before in competition. While Keith scored the outstanding Crimson win of the afternoon, Jeff Tootell in the discus and Don Trimble in the shot, both bettered their previous distances in competition. Tootell took a fourth with a throw of 147 feet, 4 1/2 inches and Trimble a fifth with a throw of 47 feet, 2 1/4 inches.

Tootell also scored third in the shot, throwing the ball 49 feet, 11 1/2 inches, but he failed to break the Harvard record as many thought he would do. The final Crimson scorer was John Harrigan, who figured in a five way split for fifth in the high jump.
