The Winthrop House Council election, hotly contested and disputed after its first running Thursday, was settled last night. William S. Tyson '49 won by 13 votes on the re-vote.

Dudley completed its two-day balloting yesterday, and re-elected Henry M. Silveira, Jr.'51.

Only nine fewer men voted in yesterday's re-election, with 331 checked off on the voting lists, and 330 casting ballots. This one-vote discrepancy was a reduction from Thursday's 10-vote error.

Tyson garnered 132 votes, leading second place Donald L. Bornstein '50 by 13. The other three candidates followed closely.

The Winthrop election was marked by an unusual amount of campaigning, with all five candidates mounting posters and electioneering vigorously.

The re-election was not protested by any of the candidates.

With all eight House members of next year's Council chosen, the final slate now awaits completion of the Class elections this coming Thursday. At that time the Class of '52 will select three members, and the Class of '50 and '51, two each.
