Nine Slugs Out 12-2 Win over Middlebury, Faces Brown in Home Loop Opener Today

Ira Godin tries for his second straight Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League victory this afternoon when Brown visits Soldiers Field for a 3 p.m. game.

If the Crimson can produce even a reasonable facsimile of yesterday's hitting display, it should have little trouble with this one. Brown, never a baseball power, comes to Cambridge with two losses and a win to show for its first three outings. The victory was a 9-4 decision over Arnold yesterday. Wesleyan and Rhode Island State have topped the Bruins.

McClain Visitors' Choice

Red McClain, who will pitch for the visitors, is a right-hander and has worked one complete game in two years of varsity baseball. He lost a five-hitter to Wesleyan in the Bruins' opener. Brown is coached by Lefty Lefebvre, former pitcher with the Red Sox and Senators.

For Harvard, aiming to stay at the top of the League ladder as long as it can, Herbie Neal, a converted pitcher, remains in the lineup in right field.

Stuffy McInnis' new-found hitting strength and Godin's reliable pitching could make it a long afternoon for the Bruins.
