Council Nominations Today; College Gets Red Book Poll

A special Council Committee, headed by Charles W. Detjen '50, will distribute a college-wide poll today to determine whether students think future freshman classes ought to have both a Red Book and a Register.

The poll is part of an investigation launched by the Council last fall. The Red Book Committee has been looking into the feasibility of keeping both freshman publications despite the charges that they duplicate each other to a great extent.

Can Red Book Stay in Black?

The main thing Detjen's committee seeks to show is that despite past deficits a Red Book can pay for itself. The committee believes that increased circulation, greater advertising volume, and more economical printing will be the major factors in keeping future period-ieals out of the red.
