Varsity fencers won the foil and epee, lost the saber, and beat Columbia 14 to 13 Saturday. Freshman fencers won the foil and epee, lost the saber, and lost to Thayer 14 to 13 the same day.
That wasn't the only coincidence in the weekend. Yale's fencing team, which the varsity meets next Saturday, has beaten Columbia by the very same score, 14 to 13.
Every varsity player won at least one bout. Final scores were 6 to 3 in the foil, 5 to 4 in the epee, and 3 to 6 in the saber.
