Leverett House will begin a door-to-door fund drive tonight to raise $900 for the adoption next year of a Displaced Person.

A seven man committee, under the chairmanship of Ulric R. G. Neisser '50, is conducting the drive for funds, which, combined with money from the Student Council and the Harvard Liberal Union, will pay the room, board, and personal expenses of one DP. If the Leverett drive is successful, the European student selected will live in the House.

Other Houses Move

Leverett is the second House to start its campaign, following by two weeks a similar drive in Eliot House. Kirkland starts its drive tomorrow, raising funds through a benefit record dance.

Each of the seven Houses is conducting a separate campaign for its own DP. The deadline for solicitation has been set for May 5, the date when assurance papers must be signed.

Provost Buck announced that scholarship funds will be set aside to cover tuition, and John W. Holt, Director of Student Employment, has guaranteed that jobs will be available for the students selected.

The drive is sponsored by colleges throughout the nation and coordinated by the National Students Association. All students selected will be of sophomore or junior standing.
